Pavlova ?

Can normal sugar be used instead of caster sugar! need a cup of caster sugar but only have half a cup.

Absolutely.I use ordinary sugar all the time when I make a pavlova.

Yes, it should be fine, I use either, depending whats in the cupboard.

If you have a food proessor, just give it a whizz in there. Caster sugar is better because it dissolves far more readily.

That is a good idea but I've found that a blender works much better for that particular job. My food processor just whizzes the sugar around, making a lot of noise but no appreciable difference to the size of the grains, whereas my blender will turn sugar into icing sugar if I am not careful.
