Depends what cut it is and how you are cooking it.With barbecued or grilled venison steaks I'd serve a big green salad with an orange zest vinaigrette, some roasted kumara and some boiled asparagus.

If you are braising a tougher cut of venison I suggest serving it with cauli kumara mash, steamed green beans or asparagus, baby carrots cooked in butter.

I cant' stand venison being cooked with other flavours etc.venison is beautifull by itself.I flash fry mine in super hot butter, and serve it with either salad/chips/peas or vege.You can flash fry any type of venison, even old stag, and it comes out tender and yum.Hate going to resturants and it's all drowned in wine and sauces, you can't taste the meat :(

flash fry in butter, flambe in whisky then stir in a good spoonful of cream
