We have just moved into our new house but the oven has weird settings for the temp, it goes up by 10,20,30 40 etc instead of degrees, how the hell do I know how hot I have it! Google isnt giving me much luck either. Its an Simpson Atlas la casa oven.

Buy or borrow an oven thermometer and measure each setting, write it down

What is the lowest and what is the highest numbers!
If it only goes from 10 - 40 i am thinking equates to 100. 200, 300, 400 degrees.Otherwise if it goes from 10 to 400 then you may have to just keep pushing it until it gets to 180 degrees!

Is it gas or electric!

Goes up to 50 (but has dots that would make 58) before it goes back to 0.It is Electric.

Agree with lilyfield.buy yourself an oven thermometer - they are worth their weight in gold. I wouldn't be without one. All oven vary in temperature, and with a thermometer (hang it on a rung) your baking will be spot on everytime! Oven thermometers are around $17.00
