Jelly turned to toffee

A friend made some Qunice jelly but it's set like toffee is there anything that can be done to make it into jelly again or haas it been good to long! Then what use can we find for it please.

I had this happen to me to, I ended up just slowly eating it by the spoonful straight out of the jar. was really yummy

Sounds as if the jelly has been boiled too long and the sugar has caramelised.That happened to me once when making tamarillo jelly.There's nothing you can do to resurrect it.

Ooh tamarillo jelly. Must remember that for next year ! Did you add lemon juice!

I can't remember - it was many years ago.I don't imagine that tamarillos would need lemon juice as they are very acid.

OMG tamarillo jelly, i'm from chch and I've never heard of that, i bet it is amazing especially if it is your recipe, would mind sharing it!Wouldyou use in the same way you would use say quince or apple jelly!
