eggs, sugar and milk(or cream I think) from what I remember heated milk, beated eggs and sugar together mixed with milk - then poared in ramekins to set then you sprinkled sugar on top and grilled or used one of those flame things thanks

IMO, yes Creme Brulee - Creme Caramel does not have a grilled sugar topping - for that the liquid caramel is poured into the dish/ramekin before the custard is added.:-))
