Sounds like you haven't attempted baking scones before. The scone recipe that you are following is very straight-forward so you should be fine. The key to baking good scones is to work quickly with the scone dough. Scones are pretty foolproof! Good Luck, and report back later to let us know how you got on!

cheers for that, I probably kept mixing for a bit long.
When they say 8 - 10 minutes, they really mean it.
At 8 minutes they just started to show some colour so thought I would have to give it ten.
Well at ten minutes I looked around for something to take the tray out with and by the time I found something another minute had gone by, they looked ok on top but just a little burnt on the bottom.
Thanks for the tip, will have another try tomorrow.
A table spoon of butter didn't seem much so spent a while trying to get it mixed in properly.
