my nanas recipe: 3t sugar, 3c warm water, 3t active yeast. leave till frothy on top then mix in 3tsalt and 4cups of flour. you may need to add more flour but the mixture needs to be a wet dough, knead a lil then press out on a floured surface. plkace a teatowel over it, after 20mins press down a bit with your fingers then cut into peices, cook in oil that comes half way up the dough so about 1cm. make sure your oil isnt to hot but if you drop a lil dough in and it forms lil bubbles on the side its ready if it forms big bubbles its to hot. cook until lightly browned (the same colour of crumbed fish? ) on each side, should be around 3-4mins each side. place on paper once cooked to strain oil.
