Hubby has bottled the last of his catch which we froze. Now I have all these bones with lots of flesh on and hate wasting it.Can Iboil it up for a stock after Ive cut as much of the meat off or is it too oily to use as abase!

Boil it up with an onion, bayleaf and black pepper corns then leave it to cool and skim off the fat

Boil it up - you can always put it round your vege plants if you don't like the taste!

Keep the fat and feed it to the old man it will reduce his colesterol its what they sell in the fish oil capsules.

When you bottle why do you remove the bones and skin doesn't that all turn soft and edible in the bottling process. Afterall thats the whole point of bottling reduce wastage :)
