Can I prepare an apple strudel in the morning of a dinner party and cook it that night.If I can, do I need to cover it with glad or a damp towel!

filo dries out very fast, so, no i wouldn't do it in advance

Why not cook it and then reheat when you need it!

I make baklava and as long as you brush the top with butter or oil it should be ok, yes otherwise it will dry out.
I like the reheating idea too.

Why not get it ready, wrap in gladwrap and put in fridge till ready to cook.
