Urgent help needed! cake batter curdled

pheebs1, Aug 2, 7:42am
im making apple cake never had a problem before
whipped my sugar and eggs and butter till they were gorgeous and thick
put my apple in and it split!
normally i would have put a little four in first but i didnt this time
anyhoo after i added the flour its still curdled

the cake has gone into the oven
can anyone tell me what it will turn out like!
i made the same cake 2 days ago and it was spectacular
now im worried, and its morning tea for staff tomorrow

don't tell them, and they will probably never guess

It will be disastrous! Send it to me to get rid of.
Seriously - I don't find it matters too muc if it curdles. Depending on the type of cake - you might be able to completely disguise with an apple syrup poured over after its cooked ( think orange almond cake or lemon syrup cake).

It'll be fine.

thanks for the reassurance! its never happened before and usually i am the bomb cake maker
had i not plopped the apple on i would have added flour to fix it

i am making a cinnamon buttercream frosting to go on top and if it tastes like the last one it will be heaven!
failing that i shall eat this one all by myself and make another
he he!
