suet?

What's that? do we have it in NZ? if not, what do I substitute it with?

toxious, suet is the fat from around the kidneys and loin of cattle and sheep, so yes we definitely do have it here in N. Z. - although it is most likely available from most butcher shops it can easily be purchased from all/most supermarkets under the brand name "Shreddo", in a margarine-type tub. It's usually found on the shelves in the area where you'd find cooking oils, Kremelta... . . :-))
