Have replaced my former jug as suddenlythe water began to taste plasticky!. My new jug ( Breville st /steel )also is doing the same thing. When we boil the water in a saucepan its OK.We are in Rangiora. Is anyone else having or had this problem!

Take the plastic wrapper off the jug.
