Stoneground wholemeal vs stoneground white.

i thought stone groundmeant the whole wheat was ground up and only the really big bits sieved out. regular wholemeal is when some bran is added back in.if it's white flour how is stoneground different from any other way of milling it and extracting the white stuff!

I am no expert but I thought stone milled referred to the way the wheat was ground stone milling being cooler process. Steel milled is the usual bulk flour process which is hot therefore partially cooks or alters the protiens and starches. White is when the bran and germ etc are sieved out and wholemeal is when its left in though cheaper comercial wholemeal may be white with bran added. The modern steel hammer mill in action is a thing to behold real power grrrrrrrrrrrr.
