Toffee.with Malt?

Turning back the clock when neighbouring 'older girls' tried to teach me to cook! LOL. Sadly they are no longer round but have fond memories of a toffee they made with malt.days when 'lollies' were a treat!
Anyone have a recipe please!

From a very old Aunt Daisy cookbook .
Malt Toffee
1C golden syrup
1lb sugar
between 1/4 & 1/2lb butter
2 dessert spoons of malt
Put altogether. Boil till thick like porridge, and put on buttered plate. Just before it sets, cut in long pieces & twist it. Cut into blocks.

Recipe 2 from the same source .
Malt Toffee
Melt 1 tablespoon of butter & 1 tablespoon of vinegar, and add 2 breakfast cups of sugar. Stir quickly & when the sugar is melted, add 1 tablespoon of malt. Test in cold water until it snaps. It cooks in a very short time & burns easily.

I have not made either of the above recipes so cannot say how they turn out.
