How to make muesli bars stick together?

amyfromthenaki, May 8, 6:14am
Without adding more sugar/honey! They're full of dried fruit and I think the mixture is plenty sweet enough already! They just don't want to form anything 'bar' like. I don't want to throw out all my ingredients :(

Why not gently cook the dried fruit in a little water by itself first so that it forms a paste!

Giving that a go, thanks!

I had a similar disaster, I just mixed the lot with my breakfast cereal and had it for brekkers

How did they turn out !

amyfromthenaki, May 9, 10:39am
Not too bad, I think I might have gone a bit overboard with the batter and they're a bit gooey - I think they'll be ok for eating out the freezer though ;-) They're not as sweet now as they seemed initially, and still not hanging together perfectly - perhaps I could have used a bit more honey. Healthy lunchbox treats anyway & Miss 7 seems to like them even if they're not exactly beautiful.
