Syrup cake tip needed

trish61, May 12, 3:18am
Hi, I am making a lime coconut syrup cake for Mum's special lunch tomorrow.I have my recipe but I was wondering if I bake the cake today should I put the syrup on straight after or leave leave the syrup off and add it tomorrow.I was just thinking it might be too soggy if I put syrup on today! OR should I just make the whole thing tomorrow and add syrup and serve straight away!Appreciate any advice :)

Personally, I'd add it tomorrow. If you're wanting it warm, why not just quickly blast it in the nuke, then add the sauce afterwards.

I have made a lemon syrup cake and still devine the next day and not too soggy, depends how much syrup you pour over. If you leave until tomorrow maybe warm the cake up a little as it seems to soak best when warm. sounds yummy!

In the end I made the cake yesterday and will add the syrup today after nuking it to warm the cake up. should be delish! Thanks to you both for your replies :)
