I know you can buy plastic ones, but I am thinking of making cloth ones, will they also stop food getting "fridge burnt" like the plastic ones, or am I barking up the wrong tree!

mmm sometimes plastic is good to keep strong smells out then its keeping it "air tight". Can you get that with cloth! But you could make a cheese bag and a ham bag :)
