Raining here so making Hot Cakes for lunch

Hot Cakes

3/4 c oats
1/2 c flour
3/4 c milk
2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
3 t sugar
1 egg

(Can double quantities)

Mix altogether & fry tablespoons full in electric frying pan or other.

Enjoy!

Serve with jam, honey, choc spread whatever you fancy.

This sounds like a Alison Holst recipe.I usually put the oats and milk together first and let them sit for about 10 mins and then add the rest.They sure are yum.

Oil/butter the pan well - they stick a little.Wait until the first side is quite firm before turning or else they will break up.(Tips from 18 yrs of making these)
