Caramel/butterstcotch sauce,

I would like to make this as a gift but am wondering how long it would last, I week, 2 weeks etc in fridge. so I can put a use by date on it.
This is the recipe
Put 60g butter in a medium pan with 1c soft brown sugar, 1c cream and 2 tbsps golden syrup. Heat gently while stirring until smooth. Bring to boil and simmer sauce for 1min. Cool.
