Recipe says to put friuit and liquids (ie orange juice and rum etc) into heavy plastic bag and cook for 5 min in microwave until fruit is plump and shiny and then cool.Thats fine but would and oven bag be ok as recipe only says plastic bag! concern was that maybe large plastic bag when it got hot may give off a toxin!(Mrs W)

Why not stick it all into a pot and cook it in that! That way you can be absolutely certain that not only will the food not be contaminated by plastic leachate but that the fruit won't be mutated as well.

You could just cook it in a microwave proof bowl, don't really understand why they say bag, it wouldn't make any difference in the cooking process!
