Help xmas tarts are going soft in the airtight container what can I do before I make any more

Out of interest, can you tell us about the pastry you used.

Hi I used edmonds sweet short pastry if you know of a better one to use that would be great thanks

I've always made my own short pastry. I asked that question because I have never had pastry go soggy on me, even when I have filled it with sloppy ingredients. Two things could be the problem:

1. The tarts were not cooked long enough
2. Perhaps factory made imitation pastry doesn't store well.
