I need some suggestions for healthy and sugarfree

lisha2, Nov 19, 3:56am
snacks.I am a total sugar freak, but I need to get off it.I would like some healthy snack ideas, which are kids friendly as well.

Also ideas for what we could have as 'munchies' when watching family movies, instead of lollies and chips. So sick of those foods and want to start eating healthy real food.

I have sugar on my brain and all I can think of is vege sticks and popcorn.

TIA

Sprinkle some parmesan cheese on your popcorn while it's hot.

Have you tried wasabi peas (from Alison Holst's Pantry in the supermarket)! There's a chili variety there too.

They are hot.but that stops them from being scoffed in handfuls ;)

boiled eggs,
cucumber,
cottage cheese,
celery sticks,
cheese cubes,
salami slices,
carrot sticks,
cherry tomatoes,
Greek (unsweetened) yoghurt with a spoonful of LSA,
berries,
hand full of nuts (no dried fruit!),
leftover steak sliced,
pickled eggs,
piece of fish,
leftover vegies and/or meat

and lots more :)

Just eat normal food: meat, eggs, vegetables, fish, some nuts, a bit of dairy and some berries or melons. Stay away from sugar, grains in all its derivates like cereals, pasta, rice, cakes, bread etc. and soda pops.

All of those things suggested by uli, plus small meatballs - make them from minced beef, lamb or pork, with herbs and grated onion. They will keep in the fridge for several days.
