I bought this most delicious chunky dip/spread from a man at the Mission Bay fair on the weekend.I am presuming it was eggplant.It had a long name with M's and Z's in it I think.Wish I had taken more notice as its one of the most delicious spreads I have ever had.Quite a dark brown colour.

That looks like it could be part of it.He had other things like feta dips also so maybe it is italian.

That sounds very nice - a bit like Baba Ganoush but with tomato and no tahini.
