Mushrooms

Pan frying some mushrooms in butter, any suggestions what I could add as a little extra flavour, cheers.

Garlic (finely chopped), parsley, fresh thyme, caramelised onion, parmesan.Not all at the same time.

I made a gorgeous spaghetti dish the other night. mushrooms fried in butter/oil, with chopped bacon, garlic, spring onions, then deglazed with wine, and creme fraiche + a bit of the pasta water to make up a sauce. an old combo, but a goodie!

If they are the big wide fat portobellos, I'd grill them.Chop off the stems and mix with finely chopped garlic and butter, place on the undersides and grill until juicy (a touch of basil pesto is tasty too).

I love paprika with mushrooms.Not the smoked variety though.

Thanks for all the suggestions, makes me want to go out and buy some more just to try them out. Ended up adding a little fresh thyme & garlic.

I sprinkle my mushrooms with garlic pepper while cooking.

fine chopped garlic, grind of black pepper and rock salt, fine chopped fresh parsley and a "sprinkle" of peri peri.
toss in the butter.delicimo.:}
