I have been given a huge cabbage so I am going to do honki hangi tonight as out side leaves are big enough to line my small meat dish. Then put veg & meat cover with more leaves & sprinkle with water & cover with tinfoil to seal so steam can't escape not sure how long to cook for as it is ages since I did it. Any ideas on how long to cook please! And what temp to use! Using chops for the meat.

My daughter does this. She puts brussel sprouts in for flavouring and sprinkles mixed herbs over the top.She uses lean lamb chops, potatoes, kumera, pumpkin and cooks it for about 3/4 to 1hr or more.she keeps an eye on it , at 180C to 200C .

If you are doing a large ammount of food it would take longer maybe2-3 hours.
