Wild Venison Mince!

vix.tribe, Aug 9, 12:20am
I've been given some wild venison mince, but have no idea what to do with it.

Would it be ok for meatballs, or is there something better to make!

Absolutely, I too have just had wild venison, use just as you would any other mince, meatloaf might be nice toobut I made hamburgers, I found it needed a little more salt than normal but not too much, I also had steak which I made a casserole with red wine in it and cooked slowly and it was the best casserole I have made in all my 40 years of marriage/cooking!

Use it in the same way as ordinary mince although you may find it will be a bit dry because venison has little fat on it.

LOL seniorbones - is your son's name Steve!

Hamburgers sounds good, and low fat sounds even better. We have three teenagers and a primary school child so we use a fair bit of mince here, tacos, meatballs, spag bol, that kind of thing.
