Has anyon else heard of this before. I have a workmate who has been a chef on and off for years. he said its quite common for chefs to miss something out or give us not quite their true recipe.interesting..... Whats your thoughts?

If you give the same recipe to 10 person, all dishes would taste different from one another. Hot kitchen chefs usually go by taste instead of following the recipe exactly.

i am a chef and i very rarely give the exact recipe...more a guideline of ingredients and methodology...my business and repiutation rests on me providing something better than ther average person can produce...why would i give that away

Yeah I get where your coming from but was more guttered with chefs that you buy their books thinking wow I can cook this, but your stuffed before you even start... and broke lol

I even notice this in magazines where the photo of the dish clearly shows ingredients that are not listed
