Gingerbread loaf - d'you reckon it's ok to sub

the treacle with golden syrup?Probably affect the taste a bit but was just wondering if it might affect the baking.

golden syrup is fine , many gingerbread loaves just havegolden syrup in them. The are both part of the same process, treacle thengolden syrup.

I much prefer golden syrup and would substitute it for treacle very easily.

I prefer golden syrup too - made Nigella ginger loaf the other day and it had 3/4c of mollases in it. I though hmmm 'thats quite a lot', made it anyway and it tasted like crap - chickens quite enjoyed it though lol
