yeah base is alright but not sure about the lid.My friend did it and it melted the handle off....I hav put my base in tho and was fine..

It should tell you on the instructions.BUT my husband when we first got ours and I was out, put it on the top of the stove and it cracked and I came home to soup everyplace.he has never touched it again unless asked.
