A query of slow cookers versus crock pots

or are they one in the same? my slow cooker (ceramic inner sits in a lightweight outer) doesn't cook onions or spuds; my sisters one - old fashioned crock pot - cooks everything....are they different or do i need to use higher temperatures? just curious...

Think they are the same. How long are cooking the spuds for?Mine cook in 4 to 6 hours on high.

"Slow cooker" is the generic term, "Crockpot" was the name of a particular brand of slow cooker - it might still be.

no slow cooker is different its at a lower temp than a crock pot and some recipes giver different times for cooking depending on the appliance.

thanks - i may try them on higher temperature - i tend to leave on low and go to work!
