Was your mixture "running"?

If it is a light mixture, this can sometimes happen. It also happens with some fruit in a fruit cake and the suggestion is to add a little flour to them and mix through before adding to the mixture.

I always flour my fruit for baking

I mix the chocolate chips in with the dry ingredients which automatically flours them and stops them from sinking - I also store my chocolate chips in the freezer which makes the flour stick to them even better and helps keep them up in the mixture. It also stops the kids from eating the chocolate out of the larder!

Do they know the trick of taking a teaspoonful of peanut butter and dipping it into the chocolate chips??
