Anyone have a good recipe for mulled wine?

Red wine (cask is fine)
1 cinnamon stick
strips of peel of 1/4 lemon and 1/4 orange
4 cloves
1/2 1lb sugar
1/8 tsp nutmeg
Heat gently, steep for 1 hour.I put mine in the slow cooker and let it sit in warm half the day.

This is what do - 1 cup sugar, 1 1/2 cups boiling water, 1 cinnamon stick (I used powdered cinnamon - 1 tsp) 6 whole cloves, 4 cups red wine (we use cask too) 1/4 cup brandy (we use bacardi, rum or whatever we have at the time) 1 lemon, thinly sliced. Combine sugar and water and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add cinnamon, wine, brandy and lemon. Heat until steamy. This was a crock pot recipe (cook low 3 - 4 hours or high 1 - 2 hrs.) but we just used a pot on the stove. The mixture must not boil. We usually double the recipe and it is always a great success.

whole cask will be fine, recipe doesn't actually say - maybe do half cask and if not gutsy enough chuck in the rest.
