Can I use my slow cooker to cook rice or am I best

dex250, although I have never done so myself.....Yes, you can use your slow cooker to cook rice.I don't have a rice cooker, nor do I have any wish to have one - I use the microwave to successfully cook rice.:-))

You would be spending more time & money (power) compared to a rice cooker.

Edited to add.IMO, whether or not you buy and use a rice cooker depends on how often you intend to serve rice and if you may prefer to cook the rice in a rice cooker while your slow cooker is being used to cook some other part of the meal e.g. a casserole, dessert or soup.:-))
