Crock pot question??

can i put frozen meat straight from freezer into the crockpot?or am i lkely to crackthe crockpot?

I think food poisoning would be more of a concern as the meat does not heat up quick enough.

We have never had any trouble. I guess some heat the food up to a higher temp then other.

With you on this one. I would never take the risk.

In 45 years of being in the food industry We never had a food poisoning scare, in our place of business or home.
Some food poisoning, there isn'ta way back...
Think...E.coli...........The bugs are getting, smarter.
Thaw the meat in a microwave just before cooking it.

An independant lab did tests on cooking food from frozen in a crockpot for the Healthy Food mag, and found that the whole chicken thawed, reached the right temperature and then cooked for long enough to ensure that food poisoning was not an issue.

Yes it CAN crack the crock pot - I would at least put some chopped veges below the meat.

Unlikely to crack it unless you drop it in from a height!I have no hesitation in cooking meat from frozen in the crockpot ..............just place it in there gently!=)
