Freezing Cookie Dough

In an attempt to keep my kitchen bench cleaner for longer, if I make a big batch of cookies, can I freeze the uncooked mixture for later use?If so do they turn out the same once cooked?

I do this all the time...

My kenwood chef can fit a quad-batch of cookie dough...
So, I make two quad-batches of cookie dough...
I cook a double batch of cookies immediately...

and put the other six batches into the freezer...and freezer them in takeaway containers.

I use a mini icecream scoop to put them on the tray (so they are all exactly the same size)

I use a recipe called "Kiwi Crisps" (given to me 30 years ago by Mrs Jackson, my cooking teacher) - choc chip cookies.

When defrosting, I put in microwave for one minute on med... it is enough to soften the mixture
