Icing cupcakes

No more faffing about with spreading icing on cupcakes for me ... not since I saw an item on Better House and Gardens TV show where they made a runny type ~ as opposed to ganache (sp?) type icing and just held the cupcakes upside down and dipped them in ... fantastically easy!
That will be my style from now on.

Sounds a good idea. Sometimes I find there is just too much icing on them.

Piping icing on is another easy way to do it:) Just a nozzle and a good strong plastic bag needed:)

I found a similar thing with icing profiteroles by accident.I just heat the icing until it's warm and then spoon it over. the icing will be thicker once it's cold. Just need to make sure the icing isn't too runny but it sure saves time!

Yes I just make runny-ish icing and as soon as I have mixed it get a spoon and start dolloping it on - use the spoon to kind of swirl it out in the middle. It is super fast and looks great. Heating the icing as Shazzie said above works really well too.
