Caramel condensed milk

I am making caramel oat slice. if i use caramel condensed milk instead of ordinary condensed milk do i still need to heat it. I have always made my own filling but i only have the caramel condensed milk in the cupboard.

As long as it spreads ok I don't think you would need to. The only reason I can think of for heating condensed milk with golden syrup etc is to caramelize it, so I would just use it pre prepared.I wouldn't add anything to it, i.e golden syrup.

it is a solid lump of ickey looking stuff, I spread it as best I can and then bake it for a few mins and it spreads out all nice and smooth.
