Toffee Help Please...

The recipe I have-from Edmonds Cookbook- states butter, I dont have any, can i use marg instead- 1 TBLS????

may make your toffee a bit oily - but worth a try.... just watch it as it starts to do the rolling boil... i am wondering if it will go into the setting point ok....

Well it seemed to be ok with using marg, but i wasnt sure when it got to the 'hard cracking' stage so it got burnt and tasted like yuk..... Next time might be better...
