Eek far too much salt wnt in2 my chutney help!

Im cooking green tomato relish and thought it needed a bit more sugar so grabbed the jar but it was the salt! i shook it into the relish and managed to retrieve some with a cup off the top of the chutney as i just clicked as i shook it in that it was salt not sugar!\ive tried to dilute it down with heaps more green tomatoes,. \i even added a can and a half of crushed pineapple in syrup in desperation and have added more sugar,
Help what else can \i do to it now, any suggestions appredciated.
Read you can use a potato but would that be okay for chutney! Do you add it whole..

peel it and add it whole and cook for a while, but not so long that the potato falls to bits, then get it out, its meant to soak up the salt into the potato, then discard the potato.

Make another lot with out salt , when ready mix the 2 together
