You could try mock cream... equal amounts of boiling water, butter and sugar, beat with electric beater until thick and resembles whipped cream. A couple of tabspns of each should be enough.

If you're looking for ideas for filling for future banana cakes, the mock cream with a few drops of Rawleighs Pina Colada essence added is absolutely beautiful!
