but I don't have anymuslin cloth, can I use a clean pillowcase? and do I put the pulp in after boiling up but before butting sugar in?, and finally how long is a good time to leave hanging?

Just looked up my old old old recipe book - it says - cut up fruit roughly and boil till well pulped (about 1 hour), strain well, boil the juice and add 1 cup sugar. My friend when hanging, she would leave it dripping overnight.Re no muslin cloth, I dont think juice can really get through a pillowcase, maybe a clean towel type teatowel.Good luck.

Didn't think people made feijoa jelly. Do you use the pulp for something else? Cake perhaps? Went exploring via google.

looked easy to follow,
Jelly is nicer than jam, feijoa jam is very gritty.

I just came across this tip: Add a knob of butter to reduce froth when boiling the sugar and juice.

I'm making guava jelly as we speak and using an old pillow slip to drain the juice from the pulp.A tip given to me was DO NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! squeeze the juice as it will produce a cloudy batch of jelly. Also for 1 cup of juice add 3/4 C sugar.

Made my 2nd batch this morning! Yummy. I addedjuice of 2 - 3 lemons also to make it less sweet & helps with setting.
