if i took rump steak out of freezer on sunday but didnt use - put back in fridge straight away will it be okay tonight - it would have been frozen before the best before or use by dates but cant exactly remember when thanks (asked in parenting too)

I take it you put it straight back on Sunday while still frozen? if so, then absolutely no problem. Once thawed, you should not re-freeze.

cookessentials - it wasnt fully thawed - pretty much thawed but was still really cold etc - put back in fridge immediately
im not wanting to re-freeze but wanting to eat tonight
but dont want to it not right - smells like normal meat
