Mix vinegar and honey (quantity is approx 1.3 litres). Put onions in sterilised jars. Cover with vinegar and honey. Ready in 4 days

Also an old one but has been converted.Enough peeled pickling onions to fill 6 quart jars, 2.4 litres vinegar, 12 peppercorns, 12 cloves, 6 tbspns sugar, 6 teasp common salt.Boil all except onions together for five minutes then allow to cool.Pour over onions and seal.
