Don't no which catagory to put it under, but I am looking for a home made fly spray that is safe to use around children. I hate using commercial stuff around my daughter and children I look after so thought a homemade one (if theres such thing) my be worth a try

There is a small leaf geranium (it has a tiny insignificant pinkish white flower). If you crush the leaf and rub it on your skin, that will keep insects away - also deters ants from biting

if you simmer a pot of water on the stove and add a 1/4 cup of vinegar to it the smell keeps flies away. Every time the water deplinishes just readd water vinegar mix it works like a treat but does stinky up the house a bit. arent the cluster flies terrible at thye mo
