Cup cake base moulds ...

hi, i've seen in a cafe which has cupcakes sitting in a chocolate cupcake base (no paper). how do i make them and are there some moulds i can buy them from?

At The Warehouse yesterday, I saw some baking trays with 12 holes with different shaped bottoms which were called Cupcake pans.
Don't know if that's what you're after, but they're worth checking out.

You could melt chocolate and thickly paint the inside of a silicone cupcake mould, freeze for a few minutes, then remove solid choc from mould.
I think it would work. The coloured individual moulds would be best.
You can also fill your mini choc cup with mousse and top it with piped whipped cream. They look stunning, but, I digress, sorry.
