bread and butter pickle i want to make this but i only have white sugar ....recipe calls for soft brown sugar ... would that be ok?...........haha!!! please can somebody say yes and why is that a difference to use brown rather than white sugar ?

The brown sugar is used usually just to give a richer flavour and colour
