you mean like just equal quantities of butter and brown sugar? That's how I make caramelised fruit.

teddy147, Feb 9, 6:08am
does it make a sauce that can go over ice cream ?

teddy147, here's a microwave recipe for Butterscotch Sauce that you might like to try.....

BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE
1 cup (packed) brown sugar
2 tbsp flour
¼ cup milk
2 tbsp golden syrup
¼ cup (4 tbsp) butter or margarine
dash of ground nutmeg

Combine the brown sugar and flour in a 2 litre jug.Stir in the milk and golden syrup, then the butter or margarine.Microwave onHIGHfor 2-4 minutes, until the mixture boils.Stir well.Microwave for a further 3½ minutes onHIGH.Stir in the nutmeg.Serve warm.
Note:This is a recipe from about 25 years ago when microwave ovens had an output of 650W so the times above may need to be adjusted.:-))

Yip and you make as much or as little as you like.Just cook over a medium heat until it starts to bubble and thicken.

Pleased the boys enjoyed it teddy147 - it certainly is a quick and easy sauce, and a handy one to have when maybe there's no sweetened condensed milk and/or cream available.:-))
