How much for home grown cooking apples?

How much do you think I should charge for cooking apples that are growing on our trees. Last year I sold them in 5kg lots for $9 (not on here), but somebody recently told me I was selling them too cheap. So I want to hear what others think. This year I think I will also sell some of our pears as well, so if you have an idea on a price for them as well that would be great. :-)

Lol, I read your first post and thought I am down here, but then read your second post.I travel regularly in to Invercargill, so if you were interested we could meet there. Is that $4.50 for eating apples or cooking apples?

It cost heaps to courier fruit. It is heavy. I sent a box of apples up to Rotorua, cost $25.00.

Thanks lilyfield, but these are cooking apples - different taste.

Cgvl - some are coming ready now.I'll probably stew up enough for my next year and then start selling the remainder.
