tried the Quality Bakers and they are so thick and awful.

Speciality breads are often best bought at a bakery which makes them on the premises.For example, there's a huge difference between a supermarket baguette and a bakery one.
It's tempting to think that the supermarkets make up one big batch of dough and make it into different shapes.Supermarket ciabatta is not at all like a good bakery one.There's often little price difference too.
