Has anyone dried bay leaves in the dehydrator how long etc. Any info would be appreciated as I have mislaid my book.

sorry. not I. I've only ever hung them in bunches in the hot water cupboard and left them to it for a week.

nauru. . I have a bay tree growing and most folk think the nice young leaves from the new growth are the best... not so... the clean, washed, older leaves produce the most flavour and should be used for the dehydrator. . lay them out on the trays so they dont touch and ONLY dry them till they are JUST crisp. . that may mean they are still green but the desired result is to have them so all the moisture is "dried" out of them. . dried, but less is best so keep an eye out when near ready... store in seal tight jar...

fisher ... your bay leaves were excellent!
Ran out to quick though ... note to self - buy a bay tree.

Exactly. Fresh is best. Dried is for the poor sods with no access to a tree. Even if you did, freezing is better, doesn't lose it's flavour like with drying, but no, just pick as required.
